MEDIEVAL “BLESSING” RING, 10TH-16TH CENTURY AD, SIZE 3 1/2 10 1/2 Found by metal detector aroundBronze, size 3 for a womans small finger. Rounded face band, 2. 5mm width, sized in its working life. Oval bezel with scalloped edge and radial quadrants as found on rings displaying the Star of Bethlehem, and probably dating this example to the earlier centuries of the period. Favored by travelers, particularly pilgrims, and thought to bring good fortune and ensure safety. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, P. 102 for another example. As found in condition
